There’s no better way to put the durability of a brand to
the ultimate test than to leave it in the hands of our wild brothers and
sisters, the baboons. Hyundai UK recently put the new Hyundai i30, which will
reach South Africa in July, to this very test at Knowsley Safari Park in
Merseyside.
The Hyundai i30 became a baboon’s paradise for 10 hours so
that designers could see how the model held up to the onslaught of the troop.
The baboons managed to scrape the car, smearing their grubby paws all over,
dislodging the rubber door seal and biting the steering wheel. All in all, the
Hyundai i30 was in surprisingly good nick after hours of abuse. The idea was
conceived after the famous footballer, Wayne Rooney, had his Audi bombarded by
the same troop of baboons last year.
Now the question is, what’s worse, kids or baboons?
