Is it a car? Is it a plane? No, it’s a bicycle. Now here’s
something you probably haven’t seen before, a pedal-powered imitation of a
Ferrari supercar, yes, that’s right. A creative Austrian artist, Hannes
Langeder, who became famous in 2010 for building a lightweight Porsche that was
driven by Top Gear’s Richard Hammond, has created a Ferrari style bicycle, can
you believe it?
This work of art has been dubbed the Fahrradi Farfall FFX,
sporting an ultra sleek design and red paintjob, this is one slow Ferrari
wannabe. The Fahrradi Farfall FFX is essentially a quad bicycle surrounded by a
lightweight frame made of plastic and light-weight steel with 11-speed
transmission.
The creation was conceived and based upon the Ferrari FXX
and took one year to build. The Fahrradi Farfall FFX derives its name from an
Italian butterfly as it was once described as “moving silently and with the
weightless elegance of a butterfly”.
The Fahrradi Farfall FFX is currently on display at an auto exhibition
in Austria. Just to give you a taste of what it takes to develop something of
this nature, watch this amusing video of the Fahrradi Farfall FFX, it’s
certainly worth a laugh, enjoy.
