Imagine paying R54 million for a car? Some might say it’s
completely crazy but when it’s a rare 1957 Ferrari 625 TRC Spider, it could be
justified. Car freaks at Monaco’s RM Auctions salon paid more than R357 million
with 10 cars fetching more than R10.6 million.
However, the 1957 Ferrari 625 TRC Spider started a bidding
frenzy and was expected to fetch R32 million but ended up being sold for R54
million. Described as the “prettiest Ferrari ever built”, the Spider used to
have a 2.5 litre engine but was restored in 1982 and now features 3.0 litre V12
that pushes out 240kW. The 55 year-old car is one of two ever built.
What do you think about that?
