Suzuki has launched the Swift Sport in South Africa and
comes with extra power and revised styling. The Suzuki Swift Sport has larger
fog light bezels, a larger grille, high-intensity discharge (HID) headlights,
side spoilers and rides on 16” multi-spoked alloy rims
Differentiating features on the rear end include dual tail
pipes, metallic grey diffuser and tailgate spoiler. On the inside the Swift
Sport exhibits chrome or stainless steel finishes with red accents. The front
seats have added side padding for extra support and have a ‘Sport’ logo embroidered
in red. Standard features include air conditioning, electric power steering,
power windows and side mirrors, six speaker audio system and keyless entry.
If you look under the hood you will find a four cylinder 1.6
litre engine that is capable of kicking out a nifty 100kW at 6900rpm with
torque peaking at 160Nm at 4400rpm. The engine is mated to a six-speed manual
transmission gearbox. CO2 emissions have been reduced to 153g/km and the Swift
Sport can do the 100km/h sprint in 8.7 seconds, 0.2 seconds faster than its
predecessor. The top speed for the Swift Sport is 195km/h.
The Swift Sport also sits 10mm lower than before and the
body is built using more high tensile steel for extra rigidity and weighs 30kg
less than the previous Suzuki Swift.
The Suzuki Swift Sport sells for a nice price of R213 900
and is backed by Suzuki’s Complete Package.
