Is this a car? Yes, it’s a Danish battery car called the QBeak.
Built by Danish electric-vehicle company ECOmove, the QBeak may go into
production this year if all goes well.
Don’t ask me how it’s possible but the QBeak can actually
seat up to six people. Looking at the pictures, I just can’t see that
happening, unless they referring to dogs or cats, who knows? Anyway, the small
QBeak measures 3m long, 1.75m wide and stands 1.63m tall and its body is made
from scratch-proof plastic panels that can be easily replaced if damaged. The
QBeak also makes use of sliding doors to minimise damage when parking in busy
car parks.
This little car only
weighs 425kg and uses two 35kW electric motors powered by 6 ‘energy modules’ of
4.7kW each. This translates into a top speed of 120km/h with a maximum range of
300km. I still can’t see six people squeezing into this car. Watch the video
below and decide for yourself.
