All-New Range Rover heading for South Africa

You may be pleased to know that the all-new Range Rover is coming to South Africa. As you’d expect, the new Range Rover aims to please even the most discerning buyer and with the looks and latest technology by its side, it should do very well.

The new fourth generation Range Rover is a leap beyond its predecessors and this can be largely attributed to the design and build of this luxury SUV, which still captures the innovative spirit and iconic design of the first model which was launched more than 40 years ago. This is all thanks to the fact that the new Range Rover is the first SUV with a revolutionary lightweight, all-aluminium monocoque body structure which has resulted in a significant weight loss of 420kg, making it 39% lighter than previous models.

This ultimately improves fuel efficiency and CO2 emissions as well as the handling and performance of the Range Rover and in the words of Land Rover, makes it “the most capable and most luxurious Land Rover yet”.

John Edwards, Land Rover Global Brand Director, said: “The new Range Rover preserves the essential, unique character of the vehicle – that special blend of luxury, performance and unmatched all-terrain capability.  However, its clean sheet design and revolutionary lightweight construction have enabled us to transform the experience for luxury vehicle customers, with a step change in comfort, refinement and handling.”

The new Range Rover will also feature ground breaking innovation such as the next-generation version of Land Rover’s Terrain Response® system, which analyses the current driving conditions and automatically selects the most suitable vehicle settings for the terrain.

The interior, as you’d expect is spacious and offers superb luxury using clean, elegant surfaces which make use of the finest leather and veneers. The new Range Rover will feature both refined V8 petrol engines as well as TDV6 and TDV8 diesel engine options.

The new Range Rover will be produced in a new, state-of-the-art manufacturing facility at Solihull, UK and us South Africans can expect the arrival of the Range Rover come January 2013.
