BMW Zagato Roadster Revealed

You may have seen the BMW Zagato Coupé earlier this year, which was a result of a mating ritual between BMW and Zagato that produced something to gawk at. Now, that mating ritual has continued and produced yet another stunning creation in the form of the BMW Zagato Roadster which was on display at the 2012 Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance in California yesterday.

The BMW Zagato Roadster has gone topless with a double bubble fabric soft top roof and features bold, elegant and sporty dimensions and was built in only six weeks. “This car is not designed only as an elegant convertible, but also as a masculine and extremely dynamic sports car which evokes a powerful driving experience” says Zagato chief designer Norihiko Harada.

The BMW Zagato Roadster places the driver low and close to the rear driven wheels within a sporty interior which makes use of fine brown leather that distinguishes it from the exterior. In terms of design, the front end sports a low-set kidney grille with z-design grating for full effect. Twin circular headlights and a three-dimensional front apron further define the masculine look of the BMW Zagato Roadster. The headlights also feature unique ‘razorlight’ LED light strips.

The roll bars were inspired from an aircraft wing and are an eye catching feature of the BMW Zagato Roadster which rides on 5-spoke 19-inch light alloy wheels. The paintwork is finished in grey with impressive depth and the colour spectrum ranges from dark grey to light silver, depending how light hits the body.

What do you think of the BMW Zagato Roadster?
