The Tramontana XTR

What the hell is that thing? I asked the same question. This, ladies and gentlemen is the XTR built by Spanish supercar builder Tramontana and is the successor to its R model.

The XTR has been revised with the addition of a new diffuser, new front splitter and more powerful headlights. The chassis accommodates two occupants under a transparent canopy, very much like an aircraft of some kind. An ultra powerful 5.5-litre twin turbo AMG V12 lurks beneath its hood and thumps out a massive 662kW of power with 980Nm of torque at its disposal. This ultimately translates into a top speed of about 344km/h and will race to 100km/h in 3.6 seconds, or faster. The XTR weighs only 1400kg.

As you would expect, prices start at about €420 000 (R4.25 million) excluding works and first deliveries are expected at the end of 2012. It's amazing to think how far cars have come in terms of design and technology, amazing...

Do you like the Tramontana XTR?
