Exhibiting stylishly good looks and hot smooth curves to
boost, the Numero 9 concept doesn’t only speak volumes for upcoming models but
also says something about Citroen and its unique approach to car design. Standing
only 1.27m tall, the Numero 9 looks like it has come from some far off world on
the other end of the universe. Its sleek design is out of this world, but what’s
more impressive is how it runs.
Although just a show car, the Numero 9 is a plug-in hybrid with
a 1.6 turbo petrol engine coupled with an electric motor powered by lithium-ion
batteries that take 3.5 hours to charge. The Numero 9 is capable of running for
50 km in electric mode. Fuel consumption improves when the Numero 9 alternates
between the engine and stand-by mode with an overall consumption figure 1.7
litres / 100km and a CO2 emissions rating of only 39g/km. The Numero 9 is not
slow either and is capable of pushing out 218kW and doing 0-100 km/h in just 5.4
seconds.
The future looks bright for Citroen.
