Behold the McLaren MP4-12C Spider. If you thought the
hard-top version was hot, check out its sexy topless sister. The MP4-12C Spider
was officially launched this week and now comes with a two-piece retractable
roof, making it a super-hot supercar.
The McLaren MP4-12C Spider is powered by a twin-turbo V8
engine that generates a healthy 460kW at 7 500rpm with 600Nm of torque
available from between 3000 and 7000rpm. The Spider will accelerate to 100km/h
in 3.1 seconds, just like the hard top version and will reach a top speed of
329km/h. Fuel consumption is at 11.7-litres/100km while CO2 emissions sits at
279g/km.
The retractable roof adds 40kg to the weight of the Spider
and only takes 17 seconds to open and close and can be operated at a speed of
up to 30km/h.
The MP4-12C Spider will be sold from £195 500 (R2.5 million)
in the UK and if you want one of them, you can place your order now. First
customers can expect this baby in the garage in November 2012.
