BMW South Africa has announced a number of Springbok rugby
icons to act as ambassadors for the luxury German vehicle brand in addition to
its five-year commitment as Springbok Rugby’s official vehicle partner.
BMW ambassadors include Springbok coach Heyneke Meyer,
Springbok captain Jean De Villiers (DHL Stormers), Schalk Burger (DHL
Stormers), Pierre Spies, Chilliboy Rallepelle (Vodacom Bulls), Francois Steyn,
JP Pietersen and Jannie du Plessis (Sharks). Rugby legend Victor Matfield was
also appointed as a non-playing ambassador.
Each playing ambassador receives a new BMW 335i Sport while Jean De Villiers, Heyneke Meyer and Victor Matfield also receive a BMW X6 XDrive 40d in addition to the BMW 3 Series vehicles.
“It’s a real privilege for me to be one of BMW’s Springbok
Ambassadors and to be driving these brilliant cars. As the Boks we strive to be
the best in the world and this is shared by BMW, probably one of the most
iconic car brands in the world. This passion for performance is clearly evident
in the products we’re driving” explains Springbok Captain, Jean de Villiers.
