Self-Driving Cars a Reality

Nevada USA – Department of Motor Vehicles officials have said that they have issued Google with the first US licence to test drive self-driving cars on public streets in an attempt to confirm the viability of putting these cars to use in the future.

Motorists would soon be sharing the roads with vehicles that are virtually autonomous and require minimal intervention from humans. The self-driving car operates much like auto-pilot to guide the car, however, according to Nevada’s regulations, two people are required to be in the test cars at all time. Demonstrations took place on the Las Vegas Strip and in Carson City, showing the world that autonomous cars are ready to proceed into the next stage of development. This converted Toyota Prius is fully autonomous and displays a red number plate with an infinity symbol that represents ‘The Car of the Future’.

Would you like a self-driving car?
