Honda South Africa have launched the all-new Honda Civic
hatchback this week and is set to do very well in the South African car market.
The new Honda Civic Hatchback is pleasant to look at and offers superb
performance out on the road, a dream come true for Honda Civic fans.
The Honda Civic Hatchback is available in three trim levels,
Elegance, Executive and Exclusive. The 1.8 i-VTEC is mated to either a
six-speed manual or a five-speed automatic transmission and is available in
Elegance or Executive trim levels. At the top of the Honda Civic Hatchback
range is the all-powerful and stealthy 2.2 i-DTEC Exclusive turbodiesel that is
only available with six-speed manual transmission.
The 1.8 i-VTEC produces 104kW at 6500rpm and is more
responsive and smoother than its predecessors. Fuel consumption has been cut by
10% and stands at 6.1 litres/100km with a CO2 rating of just 146g/km for the
6-speed Elegance and reaches 100km/h in 9.1 seconds with a top speed of
212km/h. The 2.2 i-DTEC engine makes use common-rail diesel injection and
produces 110kW at 4000rpm. Fuel consumption for this engine sits at 4.7
litres/100km with a CO2 rating of 124g/km and reaches 100km/h in 8.7 seconds,
topping out at 216km/h. Here are the prices.
