Range Rover Sport Beefs Up for 2013

The ever popular Range Rover Sport will strengthen and consolidate its position as the most dynamic and luxurious sports tourer in its class in 2013 with a fresh approach to its interior design options and alloy wheel designs.

Some of the major changes to the 2013 Range Rover Sport line-up are the choice of five new paint finishes, a striking new alloy wheel design, red Brembo brake callipers for the Supercharged model as well as a wider choice of interior colour combinations.

John Edwards, Land Rover Global Brand Director says “The Range Rover Sport was substantially revised in 2011 with major powertrain enhancements and raised equipment levels to reinforce its outstanding breadth of capability. This year we’re going one step further, offering even more choice with some great new colour combinations and detail improvements to redefine the Range Rover Sport’s class-leading levels of comfort and customer appeal.”

Customers will have the colour choice of Barolo Black, Barossa, Causeway Grey, Havana and Mariana Black to enhance the look of their new Range Rover Sport. A five-spoke cast alloy wheel design presented in Sparkle Silver will further contribute to beautify the range. Red Brembo brake callipers will be fitted to Supercharged models as standard.

Interior colour combinations include two new trim options with the choice of a darker upper cabin and lighter seats or vice versa. Included is either a 380W High-Ice harmon/kardon sound system with 11 speakers or the Premium harmon/kardon Logic 7 sound system that delivers 825W from 17 speakers. A 7-inch touchscreen offers Dual View Technology allowing the driver to view the navigational display while the passenger watches a DVD. A hard disc drive music server and Land Rover’s “Say What You See” voice recognition system with screen prompts forms part of the Range Rover Sport’s advanced features.

On the engine front, nothing has changed and Range Rover Sport still offers the 3.0-litre SDV6 Advance Sequential Turbo diesel engine capable of 180kW with 600Nm at 2000rpm with a CO2 emissions rating of 243g/km.

The 5.0-litre V8 Supercharged petrol engine kicks out a hefty 375kW with 625Nm at 2500-5500rpm. Both engines are mated with a ZF HP28 6-speed automatic gearbox with CommandShift as standard. The Supercharged model comes with a steering wheel mounted PaddleShift as standard.

The 2013 Range Rover Sport line-up includes the entry-level Range Rover Sport, the SDV6 SE, which stands alongside the previous SDV6 HSE and the SDV6 HSE Luxury. In the petrol stable, the Supercharged derivative stands alongside the flagship model, the Supercharged Autobiography Sport, representing the pinnacle of the Range Rover Sport line-up.
