With the latest release of the Ssangyong Korando, South
Africans will soon have the chance to try out the Rexton W which arrives in
October. The flagship SUV was recently unveiled at the Busan Motor Show in
South Korea.
The design of the Ssangyong Rexton W is clean and somewhat appealing
to the eye. For us South Africans, the Rexton W will make use of the familiar
2.7 litre five-cylinder turbodiesel motor that kicks out 121kW at 4000rpm. The
engine is mated with a Mercedes Benz sourced five-speed automatic gearbox.
The Rexton W will also come with electronic stability
control, active rollover protection, tyre pressure monitoring and ultrasonic
warning system as standard.Time will tell how well the Rexton W will do in South
Africa, let’s see.
