The new Mercedes Benz G63 AMG will make its debut at the
Beijing Motor Show next week. The G63 will join the G350 in AMG’s new lineup
and replaces the G55 AMG model.
The new Mercedes Benz G63 AMG is powered by a new 5.5 litre bi-turbo
V8 that produces 400kW coupled with a seven-speed AMG SpeedShift automatic
transmission gear setup. This particular transmission comes with three drive
modes, namely Controlled Efficiency (C), Sport (S) and Manual (M). Using the
Controlled Efficiency mode, fuel consumption is reduced by 13 percent on the
previous model and achieves 13.8 litres / 100km. The G63 exhibits a distinctly aggressive exterior
styling with a luxurious interior equipped with a new instrument panel that
offers a TFT display, central screen with command system, Satnav, internet and Bluetooth
connectivity as well as voice control.
Also in the G-range and one model up from the G63 is the
G65, powered by a 6.0 litre V12 engine that produces a hefty 612 horsepower.
The G65 will also be making its debut at the 2012 Beijing Motor Show.
