I recently had the pleasure of being a passenger in the latest 2014 VW Golf 7 R. I never thought I would be so lucky, what a ride! From the outside, its certainly looks like a new Golf, but step in and a plush, quality interior is ready to serve your every need. The engine speaks for itself. Impressive best describes this car.

Volkswagen Golf 7 arrives in South Africa

Tweet The arrival of the Golf 7 in South Africa is considered to be a big deal, especially when you consider that the Golf 7 weighs up to 100kg less with fuel consumption improving by up to 23%. However, by looking at it, not much has changed and by that I mean, it still looks like a Golf, which is what Volkswagen was going for. Rather than changing the vehicle outright, Volkswagen rather worked to refine a look that pays pays homage to the Golf's successful history, and I think it looks pretty impressive. Whichever way you look at it, this is still a Golf through and through and time will tell how well it sells in South Africa. My guess is that it will do very well in South Africa, but will most likely appeal to those who are able to afford it.

BMW has launched the new 7-Series in South Africa which features a wide range of updates compared to its predecessors. Idols Winner gets Ford Fiesta

South African Idol’s winner, Khaya Mthethwa, has received a new Ford Fiesta 1.6 Titanium after clinching the idol’s title at the Mosaïek Teatro in Fairlands yesterday. The 25-year old Durbanite received the most public votes beating 23-year old Melissa from Port Elizabeth.

The five-door Ford Fiesta 1.6 Titanium features a 1.6-litre engine, leather interior, automatic air conditioning, cruise control, radio/CD/MP3 with six speakers, Bluetooth and Voice Control, Aux audio connector and USB port.

“Our involvement with Idols has been a fantastic opportunity for us to engage with like-minded fans. Khaya will no doubt be a great ambassador for the brand and we are excited to see him driving off in a Fiesta Titanium,” said Ford Marketing Manager, Gavin Golightly.

Toyota reveals production ready iQ EV

Toyota has revealed details of its production ready iQ Electric Vehicle (EV). However, Toyota has made it clear that challenges in the form of limited range, long recharging times and limited re-charging infrastructure stand in the way of the iQ EV going into production. Even though Toyota is ready with the iQ EV, it will rather focus its commercial activities on providing a plug-in hybrid solution for the short to medium term to meet customer requirements.

New Renault Clio 4 coming to South Africa

The new Renault Clio 4 has been officially unveiled to the public today at the Paris Motor Show. The new Clio 4 is the embodiment of Renault’s new design identity which is simple, sensuous and warm. The new Renault Clio 4 will be launched in South Africa in the first half of 2013, with the Clio 4 R.S. 200 EDC becoming available later in 2013.
