Yes, the Top Gear Live Stunt Team certainly impressed crowds with the successful completion of a world record double loop-the-loop at this year’s Top Gear Festival that took place at the Moses Mabhida Stadium in Durban. If you thought that was crazy, then you need to keep reading.
The Hot Wheels toy company is planning to take the double
loop-the-loop to extreme levels at the 2012 X Games taking place in Los
Angeles. This time the loops will be a massive 20 meters in diameter compared
to the 8 meters in Durban and will see two drivers driving through the continuous
loops at the same time. This all means that the drivers will have to drive
faster to prevent them falling out of the loops and the G-forces experienced
will be significantly higher. The loops weigh a total of 75 tonnes and are 8
meters wide to accommodate two drivers.
The stunt will take place on 30 June 2012 at the 2012 X
Games and will be broadcast live on ABC and ESPN. Just to wet your appetite for
