McLaren's new P1 concept supercar will be shown at the Paris Motor Show and if
the McLaren MP4-12C is anything to go by, which it is, the P1 will very well be
on its way to become the greatest supercar ever built when the production model
becomes available at the end of 2013.
The McLaren P1 plans ‘to be the best driver’s car in the
world on road and track’. Mclaren has not released performance figures but
McLaren MD Anthony Sherrif said that “Our aim is not necessarily to be the
fastest in absolute top speed but to be the quickest and most rewarding series
production road car on a circuit. It is the true test of a supercar's all round
ability and a much more important technical statement. It will be the most
exciting, most capable, most technologically advanced and most dynamically
accomplished supercar ever made.”
McLaren has indicated that the P1 will be placed above the
12C and 12C Spider in terms of price and performance. More details will be
revealed next week at the Paris Motor Show.
